On Wednesday, August 7, 2019, Reg Sci welcomed the incoming class of certificate and Master’s students. Nearly 40 onsite and distance students participated in orientation ahead of their first class on August 17th. We wish our future USC alums the very best!
Summerfest 2019 ended on August 2, 2019. The program concluded with five remarkable group presentations. Each group was comprised of ten students with at least one member representing China, Korea, India, and Taiwan.
Summerfest is an opportunity for exchange of cultural ideas; in part by experiencing a U.S. university setting that provides a networking platform to engage like-minded fellow students.
Students in MPTX 511, 512 and 514 were joined by Reg Sci adjunct professor, Roger Clemens (front) and other students from Fresno State.
This year Summerfest is hosting 55 international students from Korea, China, India, and Taiwan. Ten universities are represented, including for first time, students from Nirma University, Ahmedabad Gujarat, India. Summerfest classes and activities are well underway. Students arrived to some California shakes before attending a 4th of July gathering!

Nancy Pire-Smerkanich organized a forum for students and emerging professionals at the Drug Information Association Conference in San Diego! Amelia Spinrad served on a panel of professionals, discussing careers in academia. Kristen Felthousen chaired a session on resumes and network. We made the front page of the DIA newspaper!
