Opportunities related to joint educational and research activities were the subject of a 4-day visit from Brazilian government and universities.  We were so pleased to host Vladir Gomez (Consultant for International Cooperation Issues, Department of Industrial Complex and Innovation in Health, Ministry of Health), and his colleagues,  Jose Augusto de Oliveira Neto, (head of Safety Division, in NUTEs Project  and member of Computer Science Department at UEPB), Josiane Dantas Viana Barbosa (Coordinator of the Professional Master Program on Management and Industrial Technologies), and Rogério Assunção de Farias (Economist at the Federal University of Pernambuco, Professor and Senior Administrative and Financial Coordinator of the Professional Master in Public Management).

Brazil is engaging in a major evaluation of its academic and technology transfer activities in the medical device sector.  We were able to identify several future possibilities for student and faculty exchanges, research activities and policy studies.  Will a trip with the doctoral students include an ANVISA experience? Stay tuned…
